Written by Craig: I am Michael’s baby brother (aged 21), and I get sick on approximately 50% of our travels together. This time my immune system decided to test out the Peruvian health care system without first consulting my conscious mind. On the day we were due to leave Puno for Lima I almost died, yet again.

My Brother went and got himself Tonsillitis, so instead of going to Nagasaki for the day, we ended up in a small local hospital. The hotel staff were great about it. One of the receptionists came with us in the taxi an helped us fill out the medical forms. They even paid the taxi fare and loaned us extra currency for the prescription. The result is he will be fine within a day or two.
