Lucerne’s most striking features are that of Chapel Bridge and the surrounding lake. But there’s much more to enjoy – from the delights of the old town and getting lost in the maze of souvenir shops, to just sitting back on a relaxing cruise steamer and appreciating the views and welcoming water strewn atmosphere of one of Central Europe’s more pleasing locales.

Switzerland is one of my favourite countries. My initial exposure to it may have been brief, but the impression left was nearly all positive. Everything in Switzerland is well run and orderly. The valley’s and mountains have a sense of peace about them. Like the Germans, the Swiss are wonderfully efficient. Moreover, you have the feeling of being somewhere cultured and upmarket.
