We cruised down the Nile, stopping in Luxor, Edfu, Kom Ombo and Aswan to see such wondrous sights as the Valley of the Kings and Queens, Karnak Temple, and Philae, amongst others. The 40 degrees heat was grueling, but the supreme effort was absolutely worth it. The continual exposure to both ancient and modern Egyptian culture was engrossing beyond belief.
