Above is one of the few surviving photographs from my trip to Croatia in 1987. Then known as Yugoslavia, it was actually the second time I’d been taken there on a family holiday in three years – the first being back in 1985. I’d be lying if I said I could remember a lot from either getaway – but if I had to dig deep for one recollection, it would definitely be that of the delicious pizzas.
