Brunei is a rich sultanate enclave on the island of Borneo. It’s a tiny country where Islamic traditions are strictly adhered to, where people pay no tax, and where very few foreigners, except some oil barrens, come. Maybe that was part of the attraction – the desire to deviate from the typical tourist trail and touch a lesser known corner. Early impressions weren’t so favourable.
