At first Barbados looked like Bedrock. Construction was everywhere. Roads had massive potholes and not one building, wall or even footpath looked near completion. The traditional notion of perfect Caribbean beaches, lush inner island countryside and laid-back, dread-locked guys listening to Bob Marley, was never far away however.
